Developing the system - the whys and hows
I am a consistently happy person today.
It wasn't always this way though, I went through periods of being unhappy, then being happy again, and back and forth just like everyone else until I basically got sick of it and I decided to set out and solve the happiness puzzle once and for all.
Maybe you are at that point as well: Do you have moments of happiness in your life, but you are not managing to maintain it all the time? No matter what, does it just never seem like enough? Do you feel that you should be more at peace? Does something feel like it's missing? Are the pieces of your life just not adding up?
Solving the happiness puzzle wasn't easy, there were a lot of folks out there giving advice that might have worked for them (and I'm happy for them), but didn't work for me, or might have worked for a while, but it just didn't stick, so I decided to start over from basic principles and devote myself for a long time to develop an approach that sticks.
One thing that became very clear to me when trying to sort this out were all the things that did NOT make me consistently happy. I wasn't consistently happy that I had several prestigious University degrees, I wasn't consistently happy that I had traveled to over 40 countries in the world and packed 5 lifetimes of adventure into my life, and I wasn't consistently happy that I could out-think 99.99% of the population on complex mathematical problems due to working on having a high IQ. These things definitely made me happy sometimes, but not all the time.
Then one day the pieces of the happiness puzzle came together for me, and it clicked, as simple as that. It wasn't some sort of massive revelation or some sort of secret that was revealed, it was just a lot of really simple concepts that fit together and it all made sense and I knew that I was done. As long as I kept practicing these exercises I would be happy all the time, and I had the motivation to keep practicing them.
So I decided to write it all down, along with some exercises, to use as a reminder for myself, and also to pass onto some friends and see if it brought them more happiness as well... and it did! The feedback that I got from my friends was great as it allowed me to find those areas I had written down that didn't make sense to another person, and to improve things until the message gets across very clearly.
I then decided that I was going to make it into a book and keep improving it until those that practiced it would be happy all the time as well, and to listen to any feedback or complaints or reasons why it wouldn't work, and set out to resolve them and improve the material. I've reached a point now where I have handled all the possible hang ups I can find and I am publishing it more widely, and coaching others towards living a consistently happy life as well.
I don't have any distinctive uniform that brands me as a happiness guru, as that isn't my style, nor do I really have any desire to be considered one. However... through trial and error, a great deal of stress, and a lot of good fortune, I have discovered how to achieve a lasting happiness... and I want to share it with others, including you!
At one point it was brought to my attention that one of the main problems a person could have with buying was with trust, so I decided to offer a guarantee. So, I guarantee that if you follow my advice, you can be happy all the time as well, and if you run into any difficulties along the way, I'll be there to coach you through them. I can't offer my time for free, but I am so confident that I can help you with this, that if I can't resolve the issues you bring up, I will give you all your money back. The only question I will ever have is what the difficulty is, and to be given the chance to resolve it first.
The eBook prints out onto 40 sheets of a standard A4 computer printout (2 pages per sheet) and contains high impact information and specific exercises, so it's not going to be a burden to read. You can plan that the reading will take about three and a half hours of focused time, with the exercises taking significantly more. I have achieved a good balance between keeping things short to avoid needless repetition and wasting time, and making it long enough to be well understood. However, if you ever have a specific question on anything that is written, I will be happy to fill out additional details in an email or an online response.
The exercises will initially take a commitment of about 10-20 minutes a day and can be done as you are walking, riding the bus, or falling asleep if you want and will help you to fall asleep peacefully as a bonus. You should see improvements in your happiness level right from the start. The more advanced exercises will take more time, but if you follow the initial exercises and do them properly, you will actually be happy to commit to the more advanced exercises, so there is no major effort that will be required here. A great deal of effort would result in a failure, and is one of the hurdles I have had to overcome both personally and in putting the steps down in writing.
As the steps are so simple, the only failures I can predict happening are with people who have major difficulties understanding and following simple instructions in English. Motivational issues can be overcome so long as the person is willing to listen, and attention deficit and planning issues can be overcome as well, with the bonus being that what you learn about motivation and attention in this book will also apply to other areas of your life.
